Why is identity verification necessary?
Identity verification for sellers is necessary so that Bid4Homes bidders are assured that they are doing business with sellers who are who they say they are. By verifying sellers, we help fulfill our commitment to provide a secure environment for all our customers.
How does ID verification work?
Verification differs based on the type of seller you are.
If you are a private seller or a sole proprietor of a company, you can use our online verification system called Verid. RSA Identity Verification from Verid is a Knowledge Based Authentication (KBA) that provides real-time confirmation of customer identities. RSA Identity Verification is an interactive short process that presents a series of top- of -mind questions utilizing relevant facts about you as an individual. These facts are obtained instantaneously by scanning billions of public records from data sources such as state motor-vehicle departments and marriage records. This technology guides you through an intuitive and interactive process until identity is confirmed.
If you are a corporate seller, to get the forms for a “corporate seller”, please send an email to IDVerify@bid4homes.com and request the verification forms for corporate sellers, or click here. You should return the forms after printing them and filling them out, faxing the documents to 301.650.9194 and writing “Customer Service” on the cover sheet or sending them through the mail. If you choose to mail them, we recommend sending the documents by certified mail.
After we receive the forms and review them, we will send you an email notification that you are approved to sell on the Bid4Homes site.
Corporate sellers must go through this manual verification process because Verid does not search information on companies, only individuals.
Why does Identity Verification ask personal questions?
We have found that "Out-of-wallet" identity verification is the best way for us to ensure that sellers are who they say they are.
What happens if I do not pass the Identity Verification process?
If you are an private seller or sole proprietor of a company and you go through the online ID verification process, if you do not score a 90 or above on the rating scale and/or your registration triggers an alert, you will not be authorized to sell. If this happens, you will need to complete the following manual registration form Click here. You may also request the forms from customer service by sending an email to IDVerify@bid4homes.com.

I need to update the information I entered when I registered with Bid4Homes. Will I need to go through Identity Verification again?
No, you will not have to go through the ID verification process again. You make changes to the information you provided during registration in My B4A through the My Profile link located on the left navigation bar. When you try to access My B4A, you will be prompted to login and then will be able to review and change any information you provided during registration.
I live outside of the U.S. Can I still sell on Bid4Homes?
Because identification verification requires interested sellers to enter a valid U.S. public record information database, non-U.S. citizens are not able to list items on the site. However, in some cases, we can allow property to be sold by foreign residents if they have deeded property, can produce a valid deed before listing a property, have an account with a U.S. bank and they contact our Customer Service department for "verbal" verification. Customer service can be reached 1.877.4ASSETS or at service@bid4homes.com
